In CareinAction resources, you'll find an array of information and inspiration designed to complement and extend the learning experiences available in our guidebooks.

The Garden is a place of inspiration; a collection of stories from individuals and families who, like you, are moving through the journey of care with honesty, hope, and grace.

In Links, you'll find our annotated list of links to many other valuable internet resources which have been developed to support and assist families living with mental illness.

If you wish to read more deeply in a particular area, visit The Bookshelf, where we've listed the sources referenced in our Guidebooks and provided quick links to Amazon.com in case you'd like to add them to your own library.

Our Dictionary is a quick place to look for definitions of terms you may run into as you work with the mental health system and strive to understand key concepts related to your relative's illness. We've made a special effort to define terms that are used frequently by our authors.

My husband's German grandmother used to say that fear makes the wolf bigger than he is. So we remind ourselves not to be afraid and learn all we can about the illness of our daughter.

Marie Faulkner – mother

There is this sacred text that says that the will of God will not take me where the grace of God cannot keep me. I take it that I have the strength to handle my daughter’s manic-depressive illness.

Elena Buchman – mother
